Safety Compliance at Dragon Excavating Ltd.

At Dragon Excavating Ltd., we are committed to protecting our resources, including employees and physical assets. Our president is actively found on-site and participating in daily safety meetings. Our supervisors are responsible to oversee each site for the safety and well-being of all employees, subcontractors, and the public. They also participate in the ongoing training program to identify and communicate hazards and unsafe work conditions so that everyone on-site is protected.

Our supervisors, operators, and labourers complete and discuss their Individual Field Level Risk Assessment every day prior to the start of work. Dragon Excavating Ltd.’s commitment to Health & Safety has resulted in ZERO lost time over the past 5 years! Our basic orientation program and training for all workers include:

  • WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System)
  • CSTS (Construction Safety Training System)
  • First Aid
  • H2S Alive
  • TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods)
  • Confined Space Entry & Monitor
  • Leadership for Safety Excellence
  • Ground Disturbance Training for Supervisors
  • General Company-Specific Training
  • Ground Disturbance Training
In addition to our on-field workers, we also have a full-time health and safety person. Our comprehensive HSE program is constantly being reviewed and updated to meet the goals of our company, clients, and regulatory requirements in place. Dragon Excavating Ltd. is partnered with the Alberta Construction Association and is COR-certified. We also conduct yearly internal safety audits and complete an external audit every 3 years. In our last external audit, we received an 89% compliance rate.
